WEIRDLY ACCURATE
Privacy Policy
This notice explains what Weirdly Accurate collects when you use our quizzes, why we use it and the choices you have. We keep the setup deliberately small: no account, no advertising profile and no sale of personal data.
Who runs this site
Weirdly Accurate is an independent quiz site operated by its owner. It is not affiliated with FIFA, any football association or any team. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@weirdlyaccurate.com.
What we collect
When you finish a quiz, we store the nickname you entered, your answers and score, the side you chose, your final-score prediction if supplied, your language, a random run ID, quiz and content version, entry type, completion duration and timestamp.
Your browser may also remember your nickname, language and prediction in local storage so the site is more convenient on your next visit.
We use Google Analytics to understand overall usage. It receives quiz interaction events — including which answer you picked for each question and whether it was correct — and basic technical information such as browser and device type, approximate region and first-party analytics identifiers. We configure it with advertising features off, and we do not deliberately send your nickname or run ID to Google Analytics.
Cloudflare processes ordinary request, network and security information, which may include an IP address, to deliver and protect the site.
How we use and show it
- Run the quiz, calculate the result and create the keepsake card.
- Maintain aggregate completion totals and supporter averages.
- Understand which questions and sharing features work well.
- Protect the site, diagnose failures and prevent abuse.
The public statistics endpoint shows totals and averages, not ordinary players’ nicknames or answers. A separately approved launch result may be shown as the first result.
A challenge link deliberately shows the chosen nickname, score and side to anyone who opens it. New challenge links keep those details in the browser-only part of the URL, but anyone who receives the link can still copy or share what it displays.
Services and international processing
We use Cloudflare for hosting, security and the quiz-results database, and Google Analytics for aggregate usage statistics. These providers may process data outside your country under their own contractual and legal safeguards. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for targeted advertising.
Your choices
If you prefer not to be counted in analytics, you can use your browser’s tracking protection, a content blocker or Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout); the quiz works the same. You can clear saved nickname, language and prediction preferences through your browser’s site-data controls.
Retention and deletion
We keep quiz-completion records while they are reasonably needed to operate the quiz, preserve its aggregate historical statistics and protect the service, then delete or anonymise them. Browser preferences remain on your device until you clear them. Google Analytics retention follows the settings of our Analytics property.
To request access, correction or deletion, email hello@weirdlyaccurate.com with the nickname, approximate completion time and any other detail that helps us locate the record. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing or complain to a data-protection authority.
Changes
We may update this notice when a quiz or data practice changes. The effective date above will change when the update is material.
